Why We Do What We Do!

WildThings is dedicated to raising awareness so that people understand why the problem originated and the best way to solve it. When an animal problem develops in most cases the invading animal is not to blame. For example an uncapped chimney becomes a nesting site for a family of raccoons because of its resemblance to a hollow tree.

In this case the chimney was to enticing for the raccoon to pass up, but a simple chimney cap solves the problem. The same goes for roofs, decks, sheds, porches etc. WildThings believe that the area where the animal chose to live is the problem not the animal. We do not trap and relocate because traps are not animal specific. They also only catch one animal out of a possible five or more. In the spring and summer months most animals have young that depend on their mother for survival. Live trapping will only catch a nursing female because she is desperate for food as she is feeding 2-8 babies. If you do not find and remove these babies, they will be left to starve to death and will cause horrible odour and insect problems. This is why we don’t trap and relocate, it’s not necessary and is very in-effective.
